Pictures of Poland

This week I'm playing a lunchtime recital as part of the "Wesley at One" series at Wesley Uniting Church in the heart of Perth City. My program is entitled "Pictures of Poland" and features music by two of Poland's great masters of the piano, Chopin and Paderewski. I'll be presenting two epic landscapes by the former, and two poetic miniatures by the latter, as follows:

Chopin: Sonata No.2 in B flat minor, Op. 35 ("Funeral march")
Paderewski: Nocturne (Op.16 No.4)
Paderewski: Cracovienne fantastique (Op.14 No.6)
Chopin: Ballade No.1 in G minor, Op.23
